READ THIS BEFORE PROCEEDING - any page on this site is editable. Feel free to add good info or remove bad info. To get started use the search box to see if what you are looking for might already be on the site. Keep your search broad. Example, to find info on a Garmin 4212 Chartplotter just try searching for "Garmin". If the entity already exists then you can edit that page. If a page hasn't been created feel free to add it. All pages have a History attached to them of edits. So if you feel like doing some online grafitti or deleting valid info it is easy for us to recover it (so don't bother). If you have appointed yourself the expert on a certain page then you can keep an eye on it to make sure only good info is added. This wiki is only as good as you make it. Finally, to edit a page you are not required to log in but you are required to provide your first name, email address and the secret word "Boater" when prompted. If you have made it this far please take 2 minutes to add something, a boat, an engine, a piece of electronics, whatever. You can use the included templates to get started. wikiBoater (launched 2/17/08) is an enthusiast driven community of boating information. Our pages include info on Boats, Engines, Electronics, Destinations and whatever else might interest boaters. The search box to the left is where you will be able to search for information already on the site. If you are looking for something in particular please start there. If it doesn't exist feel free to create that page. If adding a boat, engine, electronics piece or destination please use the appropriate templates located here.
How does wikiBoater work - It is simple really... you just use the search box to find what you are looking for. If you have something to add to that page then do so using the edit button. If you find some info to be inaccurate simply delete it. If you deem yourself the self proclaimed expert on a certain page then you can watch that page to make sure only good info is added.
As more info is added we will enhance the Navigation and add features. If there is something you would like to see please let us know.
